I have been posting many videos on my blog in recent times but I realised this morning that I have not posted a video of the most classic sequence of all .. the heart of all Vinyasa Flow classes… the traditional Surya Namaskar.
For many it can be difficult to get on your mat between classes but if possible it is highly beneficial. It can then be tricky to know what to first do when you do get on your mat, 3 rounds of Sun Salutation can be the obvious answer.
Other Benefits to Surya Namaskar:
- Increases your overall flexibility
- Enhances upper body strength especially the triceps
- Improves strength and flexibility of the lower back
- Improves flexibility in the chest & front shoulders muscles
- Reduces stress
- Improves your breathing
- Increases energy
