Best Daily Detox Juice

Tis the season….. for detoxing that is!!  I am a big big fan of detoxing and try to do a 3-5 day detox twice a year.   For many this is very daunting but the benefits are amazing and once you have tried it you will be pleasantly surprised that it is actually not that bad! If you are up for a 3 day detox click here to follow the 3 day detox plan: 3 day Juice Detox.

If the 3 day detox is just not for you try introducing a green juice to your diet every day   Below is a recipe that I have put together that includes most of the best cleansing veg and fruit and tastes quite nice too!  Try drinking a green juice or smoothie for 30 days and I have no doubt that you will see amazing changes in your skin, energy and you may even feel more positive and have clearer thoughts.   Another simple addition to your daily routine could be to drink a glass of warm water and lemon every morning on rising, this will help to kick start your digestive system and cleanse your body of toxins.

When I make my juices and smoothies I don’t tend to follow any specific recipe I simply juice or blend any fruit and veg in my fridge.  As a rule of thumb I keep the fruit to a minimum and focus more on veg   I believe you should juice/blend your veg and eat your fruit.  The normal ingredients that end up in my daily juice are beetroots, apples, celery, kale, ginger, lemon, parsley, spinach and cucumber.

Best Daily Detox Juice Recipe:

Ingredients:
1 small bunch of celery
5 stalks of Kale or Spinach
2 Apples
1 Lemon( with skin removed)
1 Lime
1 Cucumber
Small amount of flat leaf parsley ( omit if you are pregnant or have kidney problems)
1 inch piece of ginger

Optional: 1/2 small beetroot  (ensure you buy raw, you will loose the lovely bright green colour of your juice by using beetroot but as it is such a fantastic blood cleanser and has a lovely sweet taste it is definitely worth it!)

**Note – use as much organic produce as possible, where this is not possible use as ‘veggi wash’ to remove any excess chemicals from your fruit and veg, most big health stores should have them
The celery in this recipe makes the juice hard core! But it is so incredibly good for us.  If you are not used to the taste of celery possibly start off with a small bit and build up to a small bunch over time.
If you would like to add an extra bit of super green goodness, scoop in a small spoonful of Synergy Super Green powder

Method:
Simply just juice the lot

Why is the above so good for me:

Celery – great source of potassium, folic acid, magnessium, calcium, iron and amimo acids.  Celery also has the added bonus of being one of the most alkaline food in nature reducing acidity in the body.

Beetroot – cleanses the bloodstream and is excellent for cleansing the liver and kidneys.

Kale – high in Iron, Vitamin K, A & C,Calcium and antioxidants  Helps to detoxify the liver because it is so high in sulphur.

Apples – helps to prevent gallstones, supports the liver and boosts the immune system.

Lemon – high in Vitamin C helping to build a strong immune system and helps the liver to detoxify.

Lime – has many benefits some of which are weight loss, skin care, improved digestion and relief from constipation.

Cucumber – source of electrolytes helping the body to become hydrated and provides you with Vitamin B.

Parsley – is a superherb, it expels worms, relieves gas, freshens breath, stimulates normal activity of the digestive system and helps the bladder, kidney, liver, lung, stomach and thyroid function.

Ginger – natural antibiotic and superb decongestant

Detoxing is not just for January its for life!!! 🙂 🙂

Happy Juicing!!!
