This is the recipe of the raw chocs I made for my mummy & baby Halloween class last Wednesday where all the gorgeous budding Yogi and Yoginis got dressed up. They were soooo adorable!!
I love this recipe as its super easy to make and the best part is that all your need are 3 ingredients! My kids and I had such a ball this morning making another batch of these although I have to admit most of the raw choc mixture ended up on the floor or on my darling pets face and in their bellies!!
It is a super healthy recipe, feel free to play around with it as much as you like maybe adding dried fruit and nuts etc.
Ingredients:
1 cup raw cacao(raw chocolate)
1 cup raw coconut oil
2-3 tablespoons of natural low gi sweetener e.g 100% pure maple syrup, honey(today I used 2 tablespoons of maple syrup and 1 tablespoon of Manuka honey), agave nectar etc.
optional: coconut flakes, nuts, dried fruit
Method:
1. Place coconut oil in a dish and place over a pot of boiling water and allow to melt. By using this method the coconut oil keeps it’s rawness.
2. Simply mix the coconut oil with the cacao powder and your healthy sweetener of choice.
3. Pour into your chocolate moulds or if you don’t have choc moulds ice trays will work perfectly too. My Halloween moulds came from Tescos and cost €5.
3. Feel free to experiment. For my mummy & baby I sprinkled coconut flakes and placed an almond on top. This morning with the kids as they love cashew nuts we popped a cashew nut on top.
Yum yum yum!!!
Cacao can be very stimulating(like coffee but without the bad let down!!) so just be warned not to eat too many just before bed!!
Enjoy
Namaste
