This is the perfect weather for cozing in with hot chocolate This recipe has the added bonus of not just being guilt free but actually good for you!!
Before Christmas I made different raw treats for my classes, for some I made this yummy raw hot chocolate There are a few raw hot chocolate recipes out there but this is by far my favorite! I use raw cacao so it is truly raw hot chocolate. You can omit cacao and the dates and simply use dark chocolate instead.
Any vegan milk works well such as almond milk or hazelnut milk but I’d highly recommend using coconut milk as it gives a gorgeous creamy taste and texture. I’ve tried out them all and always go back to coconut milk for that real luxurious taste.
6 pitted medjool dates
3-4 cups nut milk or coconut milk
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
1/8 teaspoon cayenne powder (optional – careful not to put in anymore than this!)
1 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
2-3 tablespoons cacao powder
1 tablespoon melted coconut oil (optional)
Warm your vegan milk on the stove(if you want to keep it 100% raw watch that the temperature doesn’t go above 40 degrees)
Add the warmed milk and all the other ingredients to a high speed blender and blend until smooth.
